Warehouse Specialist / Back Up Driver

Virginia Tile Company is a privately owned, leading wholesale distributor of high-end residential and commercial ceramic tile, marble and granite flooring.  We have 9 locations in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio.

 

Virginia Tile Company is currently looking for a highly motivated and career oriented individual to join our team as a Warehouse Specialist / Back Up Driver in our Brooklyn Heights branch in Ohio.

 

Warehouse Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  remove inbound freight from carrier; check for shipping damage; print purchase orders for material received; label special orders and place material in appropriate warehouse storage location; prepare customer orders for customer pick-up; assist team in resolving discrepancies discovered in receiving and/or preparing shipments; select and remove material from stock in accordance with order picking list; prepare material for shipment consistent with customer’s, trucker’s, or driver’s requirements, i.e., balanced pallets and appropriately marked; and clean and restock storage bays.

 

Back Up Driver Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  Select pre-pack stock orders and non-stock orders identified by P.O. and order or transfer number and load truck to comply with state weight regulations and the demand for efficient delivery to customers and branch locations; drive safely and courteously throughout the workday; and become a source of information and leads for sales staff as a result of observations and information gathered at delivery stops on in transit.

 

Must have a minimum of 2 years warehouse experience and a Class B driver’s license.  Ceramic tile experience and preferred.
