Toughest Inside Sales Job Ever
Are you ready for an honest job posting yet? Here is one you’ll never forget, and it’s as honest as we can be…
Opportunity and position information: We now have up to five openings for Inside Sales/Parts Counter Associates - BUT it’s a tough job.
No whining allowed. If you’re a whiner, just click the back button now.No slackers allowed. Frankly, if you fall asleep while you’re walking from point A to point B, you won’t cut it. We need people who know how to hustle. No dimwits allowed. You must have a good deal of common sense (and use it).No nonsense allowed. We enjoy serving our customers and getting the job done. If you want to play “Office” then move to Scranton. But if you want to put in an honest hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay and some opportunity, then apply at J&N.No pigpens permitted. Go back to the farm. We like to work in a clean and safe environment, and if you want to mess it up, we don’t need you.Maturity required: We have met 40 year olds that act like teenagers and teenagers that act like 40 year olds. While the government says you’re an adult at 18, everyone here expects you to behave like one regardless of your age. Then again, that’s probably what you want too.
Responsibilities include:Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environmentTreating your coworkers with respectWorking hard to satisfy our customersFielding phone calls from customers wanting to place orders, collect parts information, find out about order status or parts availability, ask some technical questions and a host of other inquiriesCollaborating closely with Warehouse Associates to stock, pull orders and pack orders as business needs demand.Helping out other people or in other areas when needed
Ideal Candidates should:Be highly motivated to serve customers. Must demonstrate a capability and continuing strong interest to meet internal and external customer wants, needs & demands.Have the ability to communicate ideas, opinions and facts in an articulate manner in both verbal and written formats with a wide variety of personalities.Enjoy working in a fast paced environment.Have a strong interest in products. Successful candidates will be required to gain significant product knowledge, how they work and how they interact with other products and systems.Have a strong working knowledge of commonly used computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel. Desire to work in an environment where individual progress and performance is recognized along with a capability to work extremely well with others who are working toward a larger goal.Be intelligent, reliable, self-motivated, self-starters who are eager to learn & work in a dynamic environment.
Stronger Candidates will:Have prior “Parts Counter” or similar sales experience.Possess a fundamental knowledge of electrical circuitry and principles of electro-magnetism.Have prior experience/knowledge with vehicles or industrial/heavy duty equipment.Be thoroughly fluent in either English and French or English and Spanish.
Don’t count yourself out if you do not possess any or all of the above items.
The customers can be demanding and tough. They can also be great and easy to serve. There are all different kinds of people out there, and it will be the successful candidates’ job to take good care of our customers.
The job is hot in the summer and can be cold in the winter.
The boxes can be quite heavy, and there are many that you would move each day. This is a hands on sales position. You’ll have to be willing to handle the parts and work in other areas to get the job done from time to time.
While we strive to keep it clean, some of the parts and packaging are dirty. We don’t pay for your dry cleaning, so where appropriate clothes.
The hours are a little tricky. We need full time people from 12pm to 8:30pm Monday through Thursday and 9am to 6:30pm or so on Fridays. There may be some flexibility, but it will be geared to the latter part of the day, for instance 10am to 7pm or so. We try our best not to work the weekends, but we may need to do that from time to time.
We’re moving 2.5 miles in a few months, so there will be extra work required, and some of it may occur when it is not convenient for you or anyone else. Reference “No whining allowed” previously mentioned. Just after you get used to how things work here, we’re going to move, and there will certainly be a number of changes to how things get done.
Why should you put up with this? If you’ve been thinking this all along, then we’re not the right company for you. Click the back button, and find somewhere else to work. We wish you all the best success and happiness there.
But if you’ve been thinking as you’ve read this, “I’d like to work for a company like that,” then here’s what we can do for you:
5-day workweek (full time positions available) NO regularly scheduled Saturdays or Sundays Work for the 2006 Tristate Family Business of the Year Clean & professional work environment Competitive pay Moving to brand new and expanded facility this year Work for a Company based in Cincinnati and family run for over 50 yearsAround 25% of our team is related to someone else on the team or was a friend of a team member prior to working here.
