Sales Demand Planner
TITLE: Sales Demand Planner Reports to: Sr. Sales Planning Manager Location: Westford, MA Overview: As a key member of the PUMA North America Sales team you will be responsible for style level forecasts for specific customers from pre-season estimates to in-season monthly demand forecasts using historical data, statistical projections, and market feedback. The forecasts will be monitored and maintained throughout the season. Forecast confidence, opportunities and risks need to be effectively communicated to Supply Planners. You will provide in-depth analysis, take corrective action as needed and make recommendations in order to that help improve forecast accuracy and meet defined financial goals. Responsibilities: I. Planning/Forecasting· Lead the comprehensive information analysis process for your assigned accounts; analyze forecasts, bookings, sales, trends and other metrics as required and provide insight to variances from business objectives.· Responsible for full lifecycle forecasting for your assigned account group. You will integrate input from independent sales reps, sales management and other factors in light of current business & market conditions.· Work with the Independent Sales Rep as well as Sales Management to reconcile and resolve differences between pre-established sales targets and detailed seasonal forecasts while determining and documenting key assumptions and rationale behind the forecast recommendations.· Reconcile orders vs. forecast, resolve discrepancies and/or adjust plan accordingly. II. Buying/Inventory· Communicate to Supply Planners any potential changes within your business plans that will create inventory excess or shortages and offer recommended course of action or solutions to sales management · Work closely with Merchandising Operations to ensure Account SMU styles are signed off and set up in the ERP system prior to the monthly buy process. III. Replenishment· Analyze sales trends and sell-thru for replenishment styles and provide analysis to Supply Planning team for development of buying strategy, reorder strategy and exit strategies.· Work closely with Customer’s Planning teams to review, adjust and manage the replenishment information and process. IV. Systems Maintenance· Responsible for data integrity related to seasonal forecasting within the demand planning module of Logility for your assigned account groups. V. Other · Evaluate and establish standardized reports, including format and content for published reports. · Act as a consultant to business (managers and reps) by helping to interpret and understand the available information. Experience/Education: · 5 years' work experience in analysis, forecasting and/or business planning· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, 2 years' additional experience in lieu of degree· Strong analytical and problem solving skills. · Proactive and assertive in follow-through with colleagues and business partners, including a high degree of self direction.· The ability to collaborate and influence others. · The ability to apply experience and knowledge to provide creative solutions to problems· Understanding of merchandising, forecasting, production and retail processes is preferred · Familiarity with automated forecasting systems (i.e. Logility, Oracle)· Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint as well as some experience using Access Job Title: Sales Demand Planner Company: PUMA North America, Inc.
