RPG Programmer/Analyst

Programming position for privately owned distribution company which is an exclusive Anheuser-Busch product Wholesaler.  Standard Sales is ranked in the top ten nationally for deliveries of AB products.  We have distributors in Mississippi, Colorado, and Texas.

The position involves writing new applications and maintaining existing applications on an IBM i-Series computer.  All programming on the AS 400 is done in RPG for batch and Genesis V for interactive applications.  All financial, human resource and route accounting systems are written and maintained in-house.  There are several third party applications which run remote on the WAN or are web based.  We write interfaces for these applications utilizing Access, Visual Basic, and XML.  These applications are primarily governmental reporting, AB or Brewery communications, and banking or EDI functions.



This is not a static environment, especially when it comes to third party requirements.  But for the foreseeable future, all in-house applications will continue to be written in RPG to run on and in-house system.  All programming support will be developed at the corporate office in Odessa, Texas.  On rare occasions, it might be necessary to travel to one of our eight remote locations for training, upgrading, or installation of new products.  However, ongoing support is handled remotely from the Corporate Office.
