PR & Promotions Manager

Dansko is a leading developer and marketer of premium comfort footwear.  Our footwear is distributed domestically through a nationwide network of specialty retailers, regional chains and department stores, and internationally through distributors in Asia Pacific, South America and Europe.

We are seeking a PR and Promotions Manager to join our busy marketing team.  This position is responsible for driving the management and implementation of public relations and promotional initiatives for Dansko's consumer segments, to extend positive brand equity and visibility and to drive product sales.

Essential functions of this Position:

Serve as our consumer media contact, building long-term relationships with regional and national media.

Provide a consistent voice in addressing Dansko's consumer media targets.

Devise storyline concepts and content for print and online communications.

Refine promotional concepts into detailed executable marketing tactics.

Manage promotional programs initiated and owned by Dansko and our partners.

Seek out opportunities to integrate PR and promotions tactics into marketing campaigns.

Position Requirements:

Must have ability to translate strategic goals into creative solutions.

Comfortable with a range of PR mediums, from print to digital.

Execute all aspects of promotional programs through effective coordination of internal and external resources.

Ability to work both independently and as a team leader and contributor.

Exemplary writing, speaking and overall communications skills.

Travel up to 25% as required.

Education and/or experience: 

At least 3-5 years consumer product experience.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.

Understanding of brand and product marketing in a retail environment.

Experience coordinating promotions, from start to finish.

Detail-oriented with impeccable follow-through.
