Job Responsibilities Primary job responsibilities and functions are listed below. An Associate in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the Facility as assigned and/or as necessary. Operations ¿ Serves as a liaison between the Home Office and the Field on resolving issues. ¿ Travels to and from Facility by various travel means. ¿ Prepares tour notes for Facility detailing what actions need to be taken and provides notes and explanations to supervisory positions. ¿ Expresses ideas or gives direction in a clear and concise manner. ¿ Promotes an environment that exceeds the expectations of the Customer. ¿ Communicates and responds to Customer questions and ensures Customers receive requested assistance. ¿ Oversees and directs execution of inventory process, including inventory preparation, recounts, and trailer logs. ¿ Trains and communicates effectively with all Associates to ensure consistent execution of Company policies. ¿ Actively practices the 3 Basic Beliefs and upholds the Ethics Policy of the Company. ¿ Reviews and analyzes financial and business reports, including sales results, inventory levels, inventory tracking, payroll, and Customer counts. ¿ Identifies opportunities to prevent shrink. ¿ Protects Company assets by working with loss prevention and Store Managers to develop shrink controls and accident plans. ¿ Ensures cleanliness and safety of displays. ¿ Communicates and instructs Associates regarding proper methods of controlling expenses and monitors their progress. ¿ Analyzes results of the STAR, develops action plans, and communicates and oversees execution of plans. ¿ Manages multiple Facilities¿ inventory and shrinkage. ¿ Maintains assigned records and Company assets in accordance with Company policies and procedures. ¿ Analyzes and/or approves invoicing paperwork. ¿ Teaches Facility Management and/or Department Managers to forecast sales and determine adequate staffing levels. ¿ Communicates P&L results with Associates in order to improve Facility performance. ¿ Manages confidential information and documentation as required by Company policies, and local, State, and Federal guidelines. Merchandising ¿ Analyzes sales trends of products during the month and advises supervisory positions on how to adjust inventory and displays to respond to sales. ¿ Evaluates the sales and profit performance of products and develops and implements appropriate action plans to improve sales. ¿ Identifies merchandise to be moved to the sales floor to ensure proper levels of in-stock and to make room for newly arriving merchandise, and ensures that those steps are implemented. ¿ Ensures Associates¿ timely, accurate, and safe setup of merchandise on racks, displays, features, side counters, and action alleys. Page 1 of 4 Job Description WAL*MART Market Fashion Merchandiser ¿ Works with Managers in directing Department Managers/Leads in adjusting inventory, changing displays, and repositioning merchandise to improve sales potential. ¿ Directs supervisory positions and Associates in reviewing new modular plans, including planning how merchandise will be moved to meet the modular requirements and advising or assigning additional staff to assist as necessary. ¿ Advises supervisory positions on their plans to adjust merchandise sets and displays in seasonal space to drive add-on sales by selecting and positioning products. ¿ Oversees the Managers to achieve inventory objectives and ensure in-stock and appropriate inventory levels throughout District. Fashion Merchandising ¿ Ensures execution of apparel initiatives to decrease markdowns. ¿ Ensures consistent apparel execution throughout the Company by teaching and implementing new ideas to management and Associates. ¿ Reviews, advises and/or implements apparel direction/COMAC execution and communicates findings with management and merchandising. ¿ Provides support for District Facilities as a contact for apparel needs ¿ Store/Club of the Community: The ability to tailor the assortment of products to the needs of the community, as well as competitive influences. ¿ Merchandising: Knowledge of merchandising and cross-merchandising procedures, including choosing displays, selling them up, stocking, ordering, receiving, Company programs, and the ability to train others to do so. ¿ Operational Audit: Understanding of and the ability to execute and enforce Company expectations of total Store/Club operations. ¿ SWAS Planning: Knowledge of and the ability to direct Facility Management and/or Department Managers to plan individual department business based on season, Customer/Member trends! merchandise promotion, etc. ¿ Industry Awareness: Knowledge of new developments and technical advances related to the processes, practices, equipment, or technology of Wal-Mart/SAM¿S CLUB¿s competitors and the general industry. Essential Functions The Essential Functions of the position are listed below. ¿ Manages the fashion merchandising of multiple facilities. ¿ Maintains assigned records, Company funds, and property in accordance with Company policies and procedures. ¿ Prepares, reviews, and files routine paperwork. ¿ Manages the presentation of merchandise, including accurate pricing and proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, and competitive pricing, and assesses economic trends and demographics. ¿ Assists management with the supervision of the Apparel, Shoes, and Jewelry areas by assisting with mentoring, teaching, assigning duties, and enforcing Company policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications ¿ Two years of combined retail management experience AND Two years of Fashion Merchandising (Apparel, Shoes, or Jewelry) experience; OR ¿ One year retail management experience plus a Bachelor of Fashion Merchandising.
