Inventory Control Manager

The main responsibility of the Inventory Control Manager is to direct inventory control and returns activities.

 Duties: Assign duties in written or oral form and examine work for exactness, neatness and performance to policies and company standards. Review customer order reports and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available. Compile stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage and current market conditions to determine proper stock locations. Compare stock numbers and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, and similar references to verify accuracy of inventory. Review files to determine unused items and recommend disposal of excess stock. Review the unavailable inventory records and adjust inventory quantities as needed. Monitor customer and vendor returns for correctness and analyze reasons for returns. Monitor inventory adjustments for accuracy and maintain journal balances. Schedule counts for suspect quantities of inventory. Review inventory accuracy in each DC. Review damage merchandise cost Carry out first level leader responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Review times and approve and monitor hours. Train talent, plan, assign, and direct work. Appraise performance, reward and discipline talent, address complaints and resolve problems. Take attendance for the department and update personnel records.

 

Qualifications: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
