Import & Compliance Manager

GALERIE®, a leader in the wholesale confectionery gift industry, has an immediate opening for an Import & Compliance Manager.  This position is located in our Northern Kentucky-Hebron (Greater Cincinnati) headquarters and will be responsible for managing our Import & Export function and staff.  

Ideal candidates will have specialized logistics knowledge and hands-on experience in ensuring compliance with all relative government importing agencies, coordinating import logistics from origin to destination, maintaining the company's CTPAT training and certification, ensuring necessary License Agreements and annually reviewing duty payment relative to entered value.  Freight Management duties will include annual reviews of rates and service agreements, recommending carrier mix to ensure cost, capacity and service needs are met and assisting our Mexico facility with logistics need.  Supervising the control of direct shipments and supervising an Imports Coordinator will be an important part of this role.  Frequent meetings with executive management and ongoing projects will be expected.

Ideal candidates will have a specialized logistics knowledge and hands-on experience in international trade and transactions, experience with international logistics (China and Mexico) and an understanding of wholesale business models.  Candidates must have a familiarity with import/customs requirements - licensed Customs Brokers preferred!  

As a retail wholesaler, the ability to meet seasonal timelines, resolve unpredicted challenges and effectively work with other departments will be a requirement for success.  Strong organizational skills, communication skills and flexibility are crucial and the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment are needed.  Strong computer skills and attention to detail are required for success.
