FLEET MANAGER
The fleet manager is responsible for the management and maintenance of the transportation fleet at River City Produce. The transportation fleet consists of 35+ diesel vehicles and the management of this fleet includes supervision of a transportation team consisting of out of town delivery drivers, dispatch and other transportation team members. MUST HAVE CURRENT CLASS A CDL! BILINGUAL REQUIRED -ENGLISH/SPANISH
Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for the day to day management of transportation team using a 'hands on' approach to management Ensure all safety standards are met by the professional drivers in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations. Conduct safety meetings and communicate safety concerns to all professional drivers as they arise. Perform road tests for all CDL drivers in accordance with DOT regulations Ensure all driver files are properly established and maintained in accordance with DOT regulations Ensure all preventive and routine maintenance schedules are established and executed on the entire RCP fleet. Act as point of contact for roadside repairs, questions and other issues. Be 'on call' as needed. Act as liaison between RCP and DOT - participate in DOT audits
Qualifications and Experience:Must have current Class A CDL license with proof of medical examiners certification in accordance with DOT regulations and at least 5 years OTR experience Must have prior management and/or supervision experience of at least 3 years Good strong mechanical aptitude preferred Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and audit requirements
Education and Skills:High School diploma or GED required, some college course work preferred Bilingual required (English/Spanish) Must be able to satisfactorily pass DOT road test for Class A driver
