Export Business Development Representative

Join PoolCorp, the world’s largest wholesale distributor for swimming pool supplies and related leisure products and a Fortune 1000 company! Founded in 1981, PoolCorp now operates over 280 locations in North America and Europe through which we distribute more than 100,000 national brand and private label products to roughly 70,000 customers. Traded as “Pool” on Nasdaq, PoolCorp was sited as one of the top 10 IPO’s of the 1990’s, named one of the Fastest Growing Companies by both Business Week and Fortune, and was one of the top performing stocks of the last decade.   The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a self-motivated, bi-lingual Export Business Development Representative (Export BDR) with established vendor relationships to handle our Caribbean market. Our ideal candidate will have successfully sold one or more of the following: pool related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, bulk chemicals, landscaping / irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies or similar tangible goods. If you’ve got this background and love developing new clients and new territory, this opportunity may be ideal for you!   Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: ·  Prospect for potential new clients within our target market; a. Pool & Spa Retailers b. Pool Builders c. Pool & Spa Maintenance firms ·  Cold Call on, and market to, prospective clients; ·  Follow up and qualify sales leads; ·  Make professional presentations on products and programs; ·  Develop and maintain relationships with key customer personnel; ·  Identify client needs; ·  Provide quotes and product data as needed by customers; ·  Close sales and follow through to assure appropriate delivery; ·  Support Operations and A/R efforts; ·  Work with Branch, Regional and National managers to grow the business; and ·  Complete internal reports and paperwork in a timely fashion. Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have: ·  3+ years experience in professional-level business-to-business sales with at least 1 year experience in the pool industry; ·  High school diploma or GED; ·  A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment; ·  Fluent in business-level English/Spanish; ·  The ability to cold call on prospective clients; ·  A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, bulk chemicals, landscaping / irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies or similar tangible goods;  ·  Willingness and ability to travel 75%-100% of the time; ·  The ability to maneuver 100 pounds using a hand truck; ·  Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL; ·  Strong communications skills both written and verbal; and ·  Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful.    Division/Department : Florida Travel Required : 80-90%
