POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Director of Purchasing

 

We are currently seeking an experienced working Director of Purchasing to oversee the Purchasing Department and to engage in FOB buying and freight negotiations.  The successful candidate will be expected to maintain overall product quality, strengthen relationships with vendors and present new ideas for product development.  In addition, the candidate will be expected to increase efficiencies through the development of improved processes and the ability to measure departmental performance.



Job Requirements

 

·  Knowledge of food service distribution with a preferred emphasis in fresh fruit and vegetables

·  Five year minimum experience in FOB buying

·  Five year minimum experience in freight negotiations

·  Good negotiating skills

·  Strong analytical skills

·  An ability to develop and maintain budgets

·  Strong organizational skills

·  An ability to gain efficiencies with the development of improved processes

·  Microsoft Office experience

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills
