Delivery Driver / Warehouse Assistant

Boston Wine Company, a prestigious importer and distributor of wines from around the world, seeks a back up Delivery Driver/Warehouse Assistant for our Somerville, MA facility.

As a back up Delivery Driver you will be responsible for:

1. Assisting regular drivers with making route deliveries to accounts throughout Boston and the surrounding suburbs.

2. Learn the routes and be able to fill in for regular drivers to deliver orders to accounts in Boston and surrounding suburbs.

3. Check invoices against product to ensure proper delivery of orders and get signed receipts from customers verifying products have been delivered.

As a Warehouse Assistant you will be responsible for:

1. Assisting in the warehouse with unloading cases and pallets of wine from containers.

2. Putting product away in designated locations.

3. Building pallets with products.

4. Picking orders.

5. Checking product against invoices to ensure accuracy.

6. Loading product onto trucks for delivery to customers.

Successful candidates will:

1. Have a clean driving record.

2. Have prior experience driving a box truck and making deliveries in and around Boston.

3. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis throughout the day.

4. Have used a fork lift, hand truck, pallet jack and/or cherry picker.

We are looking for reliable, flexible individuals who can work both on the road delivering products as well as in the warehouse unloading and putting away products.  The job can vary from day to day as to whether the person is on the road or in the warehouse.
