Customer Service Rep / Inside Sales - Food Company - Northern New Jersey

Food manufacturer has an opening for a customer service representative. Private middle market company with consistent growth and market leading position. Fast-paced, quick decision-making environment.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  Build existing customer base business through product offerings and communication of production line values.

  Respond to and followup on all sales inquiries from new and existing customers.

  Support outside sales teams and brokers. Address issues related to the sales and service of the product line and pricing.

  Field incoming calls from current customers for pricing, order placement, order adjustments, and service requirements.

  Entry of orders and order adjustments into the Company ERP system.

  Develop new business with specific targets identified through research and/or active accounts.

  Perform special tasks and projects as directed by sales management.

 

Qualifications and Skills

   Minimum 2 years customer service or sales experience. Able to demonstrate success and experience handling major sales accounts.

  Self-driven, results-oriented individual with a clear focus on achieving sales objectives, business profit, and tasks.

  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  Solid negotiation skill and experience. Able to effectively address customer objections and issues. Capable of negotiating some sales terms.

  Highly organized individual. Able to multi-task. Plans workday and assignments.

  Computer literate. Proficient Microsoft Office (word, excel). Email. Prior order entry experience with an ERP software system is preferred.
