Credit Management Professional

As the Area Credit Manager for Stock Building Supply, you will work directly with local management to maximize credit sales. You will assist location associates to resolve credit issues, past due accounts, back charges, and short pays.  Additionally, you will meet with customers as needed to facilitate the credit and collections process.Primary Responsibilities Will Include: Reviews of monthly aging on regular intervals to identify customers and/or jobs with credit or collections problems Control bad debts, finance charges, DSO, and past due percentages to agreed targets Grant credit within the region according to established company policy.Participate in quarterly reviews with market/area operations manager Prepare monthly status reports including “Rock Solidâ€� and monthly dispute list for Regional Credit Manager Prepare monthly portfolio report Set objectives for credit staff, reviewing performance of same, and providing guidance where necessary to meet those objectives Perform or direct lien preparation for all assigned locations to ensure that all receivables are securedREQUIREMENTS: Minimum education required—Bachelor’s degree in finance or other related business field Minimum experience required—3 years experience in operations or credit management Special skills required—Ability to deal with conflict, ambiguous and volatile situations Special knowledge required—State Lien laws as required by regional make up and contractor credit knowledge Exception verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills and detail oriented  Computer literateABOUT US:Stock Building Supply, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, is a leading supplier of building materials to professional home builders and contractors in the United States.
