Accounts Receivables
Leading Pet & Pond Supply Distributor in Mansfield, MA is seeking qualified candidates with 2-3 years in Accounts Receivables. This position is responsible for assisting the Accounting team with ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of the Company’s receivables.
Responsibilities include:
· Receive and apply payments
· Reconcile credits to funds received
· Prepare weekly deposits
· Solve discrepancies and make adjustments as needed
· Research and resolve deductions or short payments
· Process charge back to customer accounts and maintain deduction log for follow-up
· Monitor account payments and aging to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable
· Contact Customers to resolve outstanding balances and arrange collection terms
· Process notifications of past due accounts to collection agencies
Additional Responsibilities:
· Process credit applications, review credit history and obtain the information needed to determine the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for credit.
· Respond to customer calls & inquiries, provide copies of invoices, credits, etc., as necessary.
· Prepare monthly reports as required; maintain account files and records.
Experience:
Two to Three (2 to 3) years experience performing all aspects of accounts receivables. Basic accounting knowledge required. Comprehension of general ledger function for proper account coding, accuracy and attention to detail required. Experience with collection activities including initiating calls to notify customer of past due accounts and setting up outside collection activities. Experience with standard accounts receivable software programs; ability to create and work with excel spreadsheets; strength in basic math computations.
