Accounting and Office Assistant

GROWTH position opportunity with an established Food Import and Distribution Company based in Irvine which is expanding their business and product lines.

 

This sound company has a small staff in a pleasant work environment.  The ideal candidate must have the interest and ability to interact with Sales and Operations, as well as undertaking the Accounting functions, is essential. The company uses the Navision software and some background in this for Financial and/or operational knowledge would be a distinct advantage.

 

While job growth and emphasis are flexible depending on the successful applicants experience and development, key initial responsibilities include: Accounting and general responsibilities, including GL entries Maintenance of Vendor & Customer Profiles including credit checks & maintenance AP/AR data entry, reconciliation & payment Review outstanding AR, resolve discrepancies & collections with other departments   Maintain and produce weekly & monthly AR/AP reports for Management

In addition to these AR/AP functions the position includes: Working with Operations and Sales on product & distribution costings Assisting President in various phases on Sales and Adminitration. Assisting in preparation of the Monthly Financial Statements and Balance Sheet Managing office equipment, network, office supplies & expenses

Good communication ability is necessary. Requires a detailed orientation and strong analytical skills. Experience with Excel is essential and with Navision, a strong plus. Minimum of 3 years AR/AP experience preferably with GL knowledge.
