Materials Recovery Specialist
Recognized as an industry leader, METRO Waste Paper Recovery Inc. focuses on the recovery of recyclable materials before reaching the waste stream. As a result of this pro-active approach, METRO diverts over 1.5 million tons of recyclable materials from landfills across North America every year.
This position is responsible for business development activities in the greater Rochester market area. Activities are related to the profitable acquisition of recyclable materials and the sale of services related to materials recovery by promoting the 'Minimum Waste Program' to new/existing clients and to maintain and/or expand business with existing clients.
Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Â Making regular contact with existing clients in order to build, nurture and expand services being provided; Grow market share by developing sales and marketing strategies for acquiring new clients; Responsible for full cycle sales process to include writing proposals, performing profit and loss analysis and new account set up; Complete all required reporting in a timely manner to General Plant Manager.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
Two to three years previous experience in a sales or marketing position is preferred. Experience in a related industry (recycling, waste management, etc.) would be a definite asset.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Good analytical and problem solving skills
