We currently have an opening for a Mechanic 2nd Class in our Bridgeport, CT Power Plant.
Summary:
- The basic function of the Mechanic is to install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, and maintain mechanical equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner.
-Demonstrated skills in welding and troubleshooting plant equipment.
-Must have experience maintaining and repairing various types of power plant equipment and systems.
- Skilled in pipe fitting, rigging, and rebuilding equipment.
-Overtime required.
-Periodic on-call schedule.
-Lifting moderate to heavy material is required.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a 3rd class Mechanic.
- Successful candidates will have Millwright or industrial experience in MIG or TIG welding. - Military or maritime experience preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems preferred.
