Corporate Safety Director

Come join Liberty Tire Recycling – America’s leading tire recycler.  We are seeking a Corporate Safety Director to continue progress in building and implementing a “World Class” safety program for our nationwide operations.

We need a people-oriented safety professional to join our corporate management team.  The position will manage injury prevention, fire protection, and fleet safety for multiple sites through our network of safety officers.  Key responsibilities will include: developing and implementing safety processes, issuing safety directives, measuring safety performance, coaching the staff at each facility, managing safety projects, solving injury trends, creating and delivering high-impact safety training, and leading our company safety council.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong knowledge of safety management practices, including behavioral safety, task analysis, and consensus building.  Technical knowledge of applicable safety standards for lockout, conveyor and machine guarding, walking/working surfaces, forklifts, combustible dust, and DOT fleet safety are essential.  Excellent communication and organization skills are required, including the ability to explain technical safety concepts in simple terms, collaborate with others, and influence results through managers at our sites.

A minimum of ten years safety experience and BS degree in safety or a related technical field required.  Preference given to a CSP, a MS degree in safety, and/or a track record of implementing safety for multi-site operations.  Minimum 25% overnight travel required.  We offer a competitive salary, bonus potential, relocation assistance and excellent benefits.  Ideally the position will based in our Pittsburgh, PA corporate office; however, consideration will be given to basing the position from our IL, NC, GA, OH, or MN facilities.

Qualified candidates should submit resumes and salary history.  No phone calls please.

Liberty Tire Recycling is proud to be an EOE company.
