Essential Job Functions:Receive instructions from dispatch and proceed to customer's location to pick up material.Operate the truck with no safety hazards.Tie down and /or tarp loads.Report all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions needing maintenance or repair to proper supervisor.Interact with customers at customer's location.Perform related duties as directed by supervisor.Operate a front-end loader.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Work/school history evidencing attendance and dependability.High School diploma or GED Certification.Ability to wear a respirator.Have current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Have current Department of Transportation physical certification.
Performance Standards:Must have the ability to drive various trucks 26,000 lbs. and over.Must be knowledgeable about completing all required logs and reports.Must have the ability to perform the pre-trip inspections of the vehicle assigned to drive.Must have the ability to communicate with customers.Must be knowledgeable about general safety practices of a CDL driver.

Walking to and from truck at customer's location and at our facility.Crouching (bend at knees):Rarely.Stooping (bend at waist): Occasionally, while tying down load.Reaching: Continually, while driving and securing loads.Twisting/Turning: Frequently, normal driving.Climbing: Occasionally, access and egress truck cab to inspect, tie down and/or tarp loads.Crawling :RarelyKneeling: RarelyLeg/Foot:Continually, while driving.Handling:Frequently, tie downs and related equipment.Finger/Feeling/Grasping: Continually, steering and shifting gears while driving.Balance:Continually, climbing on loads and while driving.Vehicle Use: Continually, the majority of the day is driving truck.Pushing/pulling:Continually, while driving and typing down loads.Lifting/Carrying:Occasionally, chains for tie downs, plus rearranging loads as needed. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Use of Senses:Talking in person/by phone: Occasionally, talking in person to communicate daily with dispatcher and customers.Hearing: Continually, to receive instructions from dispatch via the radio, plus to hear traffic.Vision: Continually, must be able to see in order to drive.Smell: Rarely, to perhaps detect hot brakes, fuel leaks, electrical fires, etc.
Mental:Interaction with others/communications skills: Frequently, to receive and carry out work instructions, stays ahead of customers and keep them happy.Flexibility Requirements: Frequently, required working some weekends.Attention to Detail: Continually, must be able to work independently after receiving orders of the day. No direct supervision.Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and /or written instructions.Recognize unacceptable variations from the standard and take appropriate emergency action.
Job Conditions:100% outdoors. Exposed to weather typical to the area.Safety Requirements: Heavy-duty work boots, hearing protection (if needed), hard hat, and safety glasses, as required.Exposure: Noise, dirt and fumes.Operation of Equipment/Tools:Truck, front-end loaders and forklifts.
