GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Revenue Collection Treasury Supervisor, performs a variety of activities related to controlling the bus yard, monitoring bus fleet to assure bus availability for on-time pull-outs, extracting farebox data, removing and installing cashboxes, security of DART revenue, property and equipment, and assigning buses to Bus Operators according to established policies, procedures and guidelines for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's Treasury Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Determine and assign parking positions for vehicles based on maintenance requirements, vehicle types, and pull out requirements. Surveys bus yard to verify buses are parked correctly. Electronically capture farebox data, exchanges cashboxes, and empties cashbox contents into vaulting receivers as vehicles return to division. Monitor fare media levels in fareboxes and replenish as needed. Removes and secures cashboxes in audit carts from buses identified for audit, and from buses with malfunctioning revenue collection equipment. Analyze equipment requirements, equipment availability, and special circumstances for each run scheduled to leave the bus division. Assign a vehicle for each run based on requirements and document all variances from bus assignment guidelines. Monitors vehicle pull-out and make adjustments to assure on-time service. Performs data entry, data lookup, and report generation using a specialized transit software application (Trapeze). Performs basic troubleshooting of bus fare collection equipment and PCs. Communicates with supervisors from several departments to resolve issues ensuring on-time pull outs and to arrange vehicle change outs. Follows established procedures and follows established safety precautions and regulations. Secures keys, lock revenue equipment, and store bins and audit carts in storeroom at end of shift.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.High school or general education diploma (GED). Two (2) years experience in revenue collection, transportation operations, or dispatching. No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last sixty (60) consecutive months, not more than one (1) DWI on driving record, and not more than three (3) convictions of moving violations on driving record within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months in order to operate DART revenue vehicles. Must possess valid Class C drivers license. Must pass background investigation and credit reference check in order to handle money. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, department, and DART in handling money, materials and information of a confidential nature. Analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all employees both verbally and in writing. Mental ability to comprehend materials and concentrate on details. Software application experience to include email (groupwise or similar), spreadsheet (excel), and database interface applications (i.e. Access, Trapeze, payroll systems, etc.) Typical office equipment such as copier, typewriter, calculator, facsimile, etc. Ability to operate DART revenue vehicles (bus) on lots as needed after training. Able to continuously lift and carry containers weighing between 14-35 lbs. up and down bus stairs for 2-3 hours periods. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Pass DOT physical (medical) examination, which includes a drug screen in order to operate DART revenue vehicles, and is subject to random DOT drug screening physicals. Incumbents are subject to the federal testing regulations of safety sensitive positions, which include random alcohol and drug testing as a condition of continued employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
