Travel Agent: Hotel Reservation/Purchasing

Position Summary:

-          Book and confirm hotel portion of group tours according to our clients' request. Input accurate "booking" information to TOPS system. Confirm hotel bookings with Japanese branch offices.   

 

Essential Function:

-          Book and confirm all hotel reservation, including dates, cost pricing, and quality assurance.   

-          Negotiate with hotels (sales department) to increase room allotment (“block�), acquire booking requests, better room rates and lenient cancellation policy.

-          Check room rates and availability according to clients' request, via Japan branch offices (price quotation/pre-booking)

-          Input booking or availability information. Booking information goes to the tour operators to further add to tour itineraries. Availability information goes to Japanese branch offices. 

-          Send room lists and/or cancellation notices to hotels according to tour booking requests.

 

Other Responsibilities:

-          Maintain cordial relationship with hotel sales department, 

-          Attend various hotel inspections/events in order to maintain and assure quality control.

-          Gather and compile hotel information for reference

 

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

 

-          Bilingual preferred; Japanese/English (read, write, speak)

-          Excellent verbal & written communication skills

-          Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)

-          Available to work at varied shifts/hours, including weekends
