Sr Human Resources Manager
Primary responsibility of this position is to develop, implement, and administer policies and programs in the following areas: recruitment, compensation and benefits, training, labor relations, performance management, and compensation. This position interfaces with and counsels department and cross-functional peers and provides guidance and problem solving advice. You will apply fundamental business and human resource concepts to establish and maintain effective work relationships with managers and employees in the field. The Sr. HR Manager directly manages the HR Manager and the Staffing Manager and also has oversight responsibility for HR Generalists/ Coordinators in the Market Area. Additionally s/he will support multiple sites throughout Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia and should expect to be making site visits weekly. Primary Responsibilities: -Provide information regarding employee relations, compensation administration, performance management, benefits, recognition, training, and staffing to exempt and non-exempt employees. -Provide expert HR advice as requested and consult with the Area Vice-President and his/her direct reports as needed. -Assist in preparation and maintenance of AAP plans for each district. -Audit applicant flow logs and work with the sites to ensure procedures are being documented and followed. -Answer benefits questions for managers and employees, as well as assisting with problem solving. Act as a liaison between employees and insurance carriers to resolve problems and clarify benefits. Assist with annual benefits renewals, including enrollment procedures. Present benefits open enrollment meetings. -Oversee FMLA; short-term or long-term disability claims programs. -Review all salary changes due to merit increases, promotions, bonuses or pay adjustments. Ensure that information is forwarded to our Service Center. -Develop, implement, maintain and update key human resource metrics and other workforce management data such as: turnover, recruitment costs, demographic profiles, terminations, projected retirements and skill shortages. -Act as a resource for special projects and human resource programs. -Travel to all our sites on a regular basis to gain an understanding of challenges facing our employees and managers. Respond to questions during "round table" meetings at the sites and investigate employee calls to the Waste Management Integrity Hotline. -Schedule and conduct required training programs to all levels within MA. -Manage and mentor Human Resource Manager, Staffing Manager and Human Resource Generalists and Coordinators. -Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements -BS or BA in Labor Relations, HR, Business or related area. -Minimum of 8 years Human Resource experience. -Strong working knowledge of state and federal HR laws. -Ability to travel as necessary. -Strong computer skills.
