Software Development Engineer
Travelport seeks a Senior Software Developer to work on the Traversa Corporate Booking Tool. The Senior Software Developer will contribute to the engineering, design, implementation and integration of cost effective technology solutions. This position requires the ability to work across the Travelport technology and operations organizations as well as with external vendors. ResponsibilitiesDemonstrable ability to contribute on a broad and deep basis in the implementation of multiple software and hardware components across multiple domains into a cohesive and functional system aligned with Travelport's architectural framework. Research and apply new hardware and software technologies to reduce corporate costs and improve productivity and reliability. QualificationsExcellent interpersonal skills – ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.Excellent problem solving/analytical skillsExcellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task5+ years experience in open systems application development environment 3 years experience in JAVA-based application development environment 2-3 years experience in J2EE technologies (Servlets, EJB, JDBC, JMS, Java Security) 1-2 years of experience with XML and related technologies (XSL/T, XML Schema). Experience with Web Service technologies preferred. Working Understanding of the Unified Modeling Language (UML Excellent understanding of object-oriented analysis and design Excellent understanding of architectural design patterns Excellent understanding of enterprise architectures Understanding of networking connectivity is essential, including TCP/IP Understanding of enterprise systems (i.e., databases, legacy systems, etc.)1-2 years travel industry experience beneficialExperience with Corporate Booking Tool products preferred. Education RequiredB.S. in Computer Science or Information Systems
