Job DescriptionAssist in development of health promotion strategies, programs and communications.Work Location: Omaha, NEClosing Date: October 9, 2008 This is a Band B Position BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB The Program Manager Health Promotion will assist in the development of health promotion strategies, programs and communications to improve the health of the Union Pacific workforce. This position serves as the technical expert for health and wellness. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Recommend health promotion and wellness programming priorities by analyzing health data from wellness assessments, health care claims and current program participation and outcome measures. This includes improvements to current programs as well as new programming. Develop new and maintain existing HealthTrack programs including QSMs, risk reduction programs, wellness assessments, and exercise programs. Update existing programs to comply with new research findings and best practices. Work with Corporate Communications to develop an annual communication plan. Annually review and update existing health promotion education and marketing communications. Work with Corporate Communications and our external fulfillment vendor to produce and distribute materials. Develop and maintain internal processes for the management and administration of HealthTrack programs including the wellness assessments, health coaching, smoking cessation, exercise programs including SHIPs I and II, QSMs and all communication materials. Work with the Program Manager Health and Measurement to develop and track group measures. Work with the Occupational Health Nurses to ensure they understand health promotion programming and processes. Work with the Safety group to ensure coordination of programs. Work to ensure health promotion programs are consistent with safety goals. Administer SHIP I and II programs. Maintain Wellness website. Coordinate Special Agent / Police Department fit testing program. Coordinate Engineering Systems Start Up meetings with Regional Clinical Mangers to ensure health screenings are scheduled and resources are assigned. Provide any needed support to grants and studies.
