Job Category IT/Software Development Job Reference Code PCK150-30364 Req ID: 7854Required Education: BachelorsRequired Experience: 3-5 YearsDescription: The Expedia Technology Group is looking for a great Program Manager to join our Core Technology Engineering team which is leading the transition of our web software to decoupled systems (read: SOA) and modern paradigms for user experience (read: AJAX, world-class SEO).  You will own, design, and drive cutting edge technology projects that facilitate fast-paced innovation on Expedia, Inc. travel products.Here are some examples of technologies and models we have recently implemented:·  Java, Spring Framework, Tomcat·  JMS, SOAP, Fast Infoset, MOM·  Ajax, SEO, MVC, Component/Portlet Web Responsibilities: • Working with software design engineers and software testers to define technical direction and write detailed software specifications • Work closely with internal business units and manage these relationships • Work with our Operations team to define operational requirements.• Working with developers, testers, and operations to resolve issues and insure a smooth feature deployment and operational stability.Qualifications: Creative problem solving ability.  Curiosity and knowledge about what makes the web tick, including API-level understanding of development frameworks. 2-5+ years as a program manager or equivalent. Ability to lead a cross-functional project team. Experience gathering requirements and turning them into detailed functional specifications. A BA/BS degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
