Part Time Management Intern

I. Job Summary Part Time afternoons (20 to 25 hours per week).  Handles incoming service orders, directs drivers, and resolves service issues.  Some Accounts Receivables/Payables, Computer Reporting, Assist in operational and financial strategy, Additional duties closing the shop. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. *    Works with route managers to optimize routes. *    Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received *    Balancing customer needs, drivers' locations and loads with cost and customer service *    Initiates outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolving pick-up and other issues. *    Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues. *    Plan and organize route sheets for the following day *    Assists in determining daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity as well as driver hours. *    Reports may include: route information, driver productivity information, sales and service issues and opportunities, safety issues, and problem stops. *     Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of pick-up, container delivery, service, and driver records. III. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory duties of 1 to 2 people. IIII. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or G.E.D, and zero to four years previous experience.
