Job DescriptionManager / Sr Analyst Network Analysis & EngineeringWork Location: Auburn Hills, MIClosing Date: September 18, 2008 Insight Network Logistics, LLC (INL) has an excellent opportunity in its Network Analysis & Engineering group (NAE) for a process-oriented individual with strong analytical skills. The position could be a Sr. Analyst or Manager based on educational qualifications and work experience. This position involves analysis and engineering of new and used vehicle distribution and does not pertain to computer network infrastructure. INL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation established in 2001 to provide technology, operations management services and logistics solutions to the automotive industry. INL is a third-party logistics company with core competence in delivering visibility of automotive vehicle distribution supply chains coupled with in-depth supply chain performance analysis, management services and logistics solutions aimed at optimizing total supply chain performance. The Manager/ Sr. Analyst Network Analysis & Engineering is responsible for providing professional analysis and evaluation of supply chain performance for INL’s internal and external customers. The NAE team conducts research on strategic logistics issues, evaluating supply chain performance, and establishing strategic priorities that allow INL and its customers to meet their operational objectives. The position supports INL’s operating department with queries and analyses focused on improving supply chain performance, reducing transit time and improving efficiency of the distribution system. The Manager/Sr Analyst NAE must respond to customer requests for timely and accurate reporting and data analysis, and capable of converting requests into specific data needs, and converting that data into information that meets customer needs. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide data and analysis that helps internal and external customers understand drivers of supply chain performance and develop potential solutions to improve processes and performance. Establish and report on key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate supply chain and carrier performance. Understand and effectively use database technology and data query tools to meet internal and customer needs for historical performance and key factor results. Lead in the development of special studies to address customer issues and provide recommendations (i.e. plans, studies, analysis, logistic solutions and business cases.) Support customer requests to evaluate alternative routes and distribution strategies and project their impact on supply chain performance. Help customers and supply chain partners establish achievable delivery commitments that meet business objectives. Assist INL’s Technology Services to develop and deliver powerful online information and functionality required to be the leading provider of smart solutions for finished vehicle supply chains. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: 4-YEAR COLLEGE DEGREE REQUIRED, MIS, Math, or Logistics preferred. 3+ years of supply chain analysis and design experience; knowledge of automotive industry a plus. Microsoft Office suite including Access and advanced Excel skills 1-3 years of programming, database work or web design (Java, J2EE) a plus Experience in the use of simulation and optimization tools, or statistical modeling desired. Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills required.
