Manager, Product Control & Pricing

Brendan Vacations, in Chatsworth, CA is looking for an experienced Manager of Product Control & Pricing.  This person will oversee and manage the Product Control staff.  The will maintain the product setup, maintenance of product, costings, review, and oversee contracts.  The ideal candidate will have general worldwide knowledge of product types including hotels, sightseeing, cruises, etc. and a basic understanding of the US market.  Must have excellent writing skills, being detail oriented is essential, and have a knack for numbers.  Must have ability to identify market requirements, define product vision and strategy and able to present the new product concept to Brendan clients.  Will be required to maintain a competitor analysis throughout the season.

 

Responsibilities: Good understanding of Calypso, ProTour, Tropics, Amadeus and Sabre. Work closely with the Director of Product Development, Director of Operations/Product Delivery, Control and Marketing and other department Managers. Have a good understanding of the products to the destinations that Brendan offers. To work with each of the department Managers to ensure that the product is loaded the best way for the res teams to be able to book. To ensure that the Product Control Agents meet deadlines.  Manage product load schedule for all destinations and all reservations systems. Develop relationships with outside vendors and suppliers. Check pricing accuracy and understanding of tariffs and foreign exchange rates.   Contract negotiations and understanding of industry trends and to monitor competitors. Work with Marketing to help develop specials quickly. Product research.

Qualifications: Working knowledge of Amadeus, Sabre, Tropics, Calypso, and ProTour is preferred. 5 years of travel industry experience required.  College degree preferred. Advance knowledge of MS Word and Excel.   Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility of hours, business travel, meet deadlines and handling an ever-changing environment.
