BASIC PURPOSE This position’s primary function is to maximize Channel Business Development management with select online travel agencies (OTA) & home based agencies, focusing on revenue and passenger goals by providing strategic and tactical direction aligned with NCL’s goals. In addition, this position will also provide a comprehensive OTA and home based agent solution for NCL in regards to relationships, awareness, sales-marketing tools and initiatives. Responsibilities include utilizing web marketing experience, booking engine, and GDS expertise; working with OTAs on fundamental function tasks; purchasing displays; and search engine marketing to optimize NCL’s market segments with each travel partner while altering the behavior segmentation of their customer types to make sure NCL is capturing the optimal customer type. REQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a closely related field. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years experience in travel sales and/or marketing that includes working with computerized booking engines and GDS. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS · PC proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, at the intermediate level and Outlook software as well as with the Internet. · Ability to use web/video conferencing software and tools. · Advanced current knowledge of computerized booking engines and GDS. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation with the NCL team and a wide range of NCL travel partners and customers. · Ability to conduct oral presentations and train others on processes and procedures. · Solid sales and negotiation skills. · Ability to efficiently manage time and workload to meet various deadlines with minimal supervision. · Ability to quickly learn and maintain current knowledge of the cruise industry to include maintaining an awareness of industry trends and opportunities. · Ability to travel for 20%-40% of the time.
