Position Description:

 

The Logistics Technician is responsible for coordinating service requests from customers and executing the transportation plan. The individual must possess strong knowledge of Concentrek and customer processes, be team-oriented and strongly focused on the customer. The onsite Logistics Technician plays an integral role coordinating transportation for their assigned account(s).

We have an opening with our client, Orbis, in Urbana, OH. 

 

Duties will include:

 

· Cooperate with Implementation, Account Management and the Customer during account startup.

· Primary liaison for the customer for transportation including expedited freight.

· Provide expediting, tracing and POD support as required.

· Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on freight costs.

· Manage premium freight & spot quote database.

· Resolve Issues Raised by the customer’s plants or centrally located Customer Service.

· Capture, enter & report data accurately; ensure the attainment of key account metrics.

· Provide ad hoc reporting & analysis as needed by the customer.

· Become proficient in all Concentrek-supported operations at the facility.

· Support the carrier management function at a local level.

· Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as assigned.

· Identify and implement cost and work flow improvement opportunities.

· Document cost avoidance and savings attained.

 

 

Requirements

 

The successful candidate for Logistics Technician will possess the following qualifications:

 

· Have college degree or 2 years experience in a logistics, customer service or related field.

· Excellent interpersonal communication with the ability to adapt to and work within a team environment.

· Willing to make & meet commitments.

· Superior attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.

· Able to work flexible hours when required.

· Proficient typing and PC skills required.
