Local Route Driver - Be Home Every Night

Acorn Gas Company is one of the largest independent propane distributors in the greater Phoenix area.  We are family owned and operated and have been proudly servicing the valley since 1952.

 

We are looking for an energetic delivery route driver to join our family.  Acorn Gas offers excellent pay, medical benefits to employees and a great place to work!!!

 

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a CDL.

- Must have a clean driving record.

- Must have or be able to obtain HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.

- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

- Must be flexible to adjust work schedule to meet customer needs.

- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs over short distances, and 130 lbs using a hand truck.

- Must have a positive attitude and be dependable.

- DOT pre-employment and random drug testing applies.

 

Job Purpose:

Deliver propane or propane tanks by preparing, loading, unloading, operating, and cleaning a truck;  maintaining records.Duties:

- Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure daily.

- Delivers propane by identifying destinations; following the route; operating the truck; unloading; maintaining schedule.

- Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints.

- Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; communicating necessary repairs.- Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior.- Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms.

- Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
