Lead Systems Analyst/Programmer

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Leads the development, testing, and implementation of new computer systems.
2. Analyzes end users’ business needs, evaluates scope for automation of manual
process and/or enhances existing automated system through modification or
replacement.
3. Maintains existing systems by problem resolution and minor modifications to
systems.
4. Researches and develops new methods, tools, and techniques to improve system
speed, increase program productivity, and reduce costs.
5. Maintains technical knowledge across a variety of hardware/software disciplines
and leads others in applying these technologies.
6. Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of a variety of NJ Transit information
systems.
7. Develops web applications and interfaces utilizing Java, JSP, HTML/DHTML,
CSS, SOAP, XML, and XSLT.
8. Assists the Principal Developer in evaluating and developing alternatives for
requirements of new systems, including costs, time/manpower estimates, and benefit
analysis.

SALARY REQUIREMENT/RANGE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH RESUME FOR CONSIDERATION KNOWLEDGE
SKILLS REQUIRED:

BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent. 4+ years of experience in a Java/J2EE web development environment. Strong experience with Java, JSP, HTML/DHTML, CSS, Eclipse, SVN. Understanding of object oriented concepts, design patterns, and various open-source tool kits and frameworks. Proficiency with at least one J2EE application server (preferably WebLogic). Highly knowledgeable of Oracle with proficient SQL skills. Strong communication and presentation skills are important. Ability to work effectively both on a team and independently is required. Knowledge of graphic applications software for use in creative user interface designs, such as Adobe Illustrator.
