Job background information:

A well-established transportation brokerage and stepdeck-flatbed trucking company is seeking to fill a freight broker/ dispatcher position at our WI operations terminal.  The job applicant should have experience in some or all of the following areas: brokerage logistics, transportation cost analysis and pricing, LTL freight, consolidation of LTL's and partials, load planning, truckload freight, backhauls, dock and/or warehouse operations, appointment scheduling and customer service. 

Job Description:

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to dispatch trucks, track loads, negotiate rates, solve problems, and provide excellent customer service. Duties:

· Perform various office functions including but not limited to faxing, data entry, telephone/communications skills and providing customer service to both our internal and external customer clients.

· Work with direct customer and carriers to arrange freight shipments by anticipating delivery requirements, destinations, routes, rates and delivery times. Keep customers informed by forwarding notice of freight availability, shipment date, and status.

· Utilize the available tools and resources to locate qualified carriers to cover freight for our customers in lanes not covered by our company drivers.  Maintain excellent customer service requirements equal to our company drivers when 3rd party carriers are used

· Build strong shipper relationships and communication lines to sell our services to new clients.

· Actively seek customer satisfaction when damages, shortages, and miss-shipments occur by determining optimal response while maintaining company goals

· Protect the company reputation by keeping rates and credit information confidential.

· Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to the company.
