Junior Audit Professional

Genco Shipping & Trading Limited, New York-based dry cargo shipping company, is seeking a Junior Audit Professional.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        planning and executing audit tests of internal controls to satisfy audit and  control objectives (e.g., financial, operations, compliance, etc.)

·        conducting and documenting audits for various departments of the organization

·        assessing business, operating, and control risks of current systems

·        conducts reviews of financial and operational areas and applies sound judgment to assess effectiveness and efficiency of controls, processes and operations

·        conducting special audit and consulting projects

·        working directly with other auditor to facilitate the preparation of controls documentation

·        making suggestions and developing recommendations for improvements to current and proposed controls, procedures and systems

·        consulting with management in determining actions items required for resolution of control issues

·        assist in writing reports for senior and executive management

·        assist in performing annual and periodic risk assessments of business processes, functions, departments, etc.

·        supporting the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance programs

 

Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus.
