Director, Human Resources

TravCorp USA, in Anaheim, CA is looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources.  This person will provide leadership and coordination of Human Resource functions throughout the TravCorp group of companies in the USA. This person will develop and implement corporate Human Resource strategy and programs that are consistent amongst all locations.

 

Responsibilities:Manage and motivate the HR team and ensure that they are performing at their peak level.  This includes a Payroll Administrator, HR Administrator, Corporate Trainer, HR Assistant, and two off-site HR Managers.Oversee payroll processing and HRIS administration.Develop and manage annual HR budget and perform periodic cost and productivity analysis.Establish and implement short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.  Submit and execute an annual HR plan.Direct the administration of benefit programs to include: health, 401K, disability, unemployment, workers compensation, and staff travel.Manage, design, and implement benefit plans and programs to maintain a competitive posture and ensure cost efficiencies.Champion effective people relations skill sand proactively promote and maintain a work environment of trust and open and effective communication between staff, their managers and the company.Support performance management and salary administration activities to achieve sound compensation decisions and practices.Review and maintain the Employee Handbook.  Conduct research and analysis to update HR policies and practices.Address employee relations issues and maintain appropriate documentation.Provide support and guidance to managers on all HR issues, these include but are not limited to hiring, terminations, leave of absences, and disciplinary issues.  Provide necessary training, coaching and expectations for manager role.Arrange company events throughout the year (holiday party, picnic, lunches, etc.) and think of innovative ways to boost employee morale and productivity.Seek efficiencies in HR processes and procedures for the group.Be a spokesperson for internal company communications.Assist and be a point of contact for annual financial audit as it relates to payroll processing, workers compensation, and 401K.



Qualifications:At least 5 years in HR and in managing staff.Bachelor degree required.  HR certificate preferred.  PHR/SPHR a plus.Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer.  Knowledge of payroll processing and HRIS systems (preferably ADP).Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to interact with all levels of staff.Knowledge of federal, state and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations.  Ability to interpret and advice on the application of labor laws.Must be very detailed w/ excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.Ability to interact w/ multiple departments and juggle a wide range of projects w/ ease.Ability to problem solve and meet deadlines.Demonstrate sound business and professional work ethic.Recognizes and values differences in employees.  Shows respect for others, regardless of differences.Ability to effectively influence all levels of employees.  Manages disagreements and conflicts in an open, constructive and timely manner.
