Communications Technician

The Communications Technical Specialist will be responsible for assisting employees with all telecommunication and internet needs.  This includes a wide arrange of job duties from basic phone knowledge, installation of phones, programming of phone extensions and voice mailbox systems as well as repairing and maintaining these devices.  The CT is also responsible for developing, improving, maintaining and implementing the network. They will be responsible for answering all questions on applications and programming in regards to the Mitel 3300 phone system. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

1.  Manage MACs for multiple locations.

2.  Control inventory through basic management of supplies and inventory for telephone equipment.

3.  Train new and current employees on the Mitel 3300 phone system.

4.  Answer questions and solve any issues regarding telecommunication and internet systems.

5.  Must possess the ability to work alone and to prioritize workload.

6.  Contributes to the growth of the business by referring quality candidates into the hiring process.

 

Required Job Qualifications:

 

1.  Two or Four Year College Degree or equivalent education

2.  Strong work ethic

3.  Motivated by facilitating the success of others

4.  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (face to face and phone)

5.  Impeccable organizational skills

6.  Typing skills (25 wpm minimum)

7.  Proficient computer skills in MS Office and Windows OS

8.  Energetic, fast learner

9.  Great problem solving skills

10. Excellent multitasking skills

11. At least 1-3 years of previous technical support or help desk experience.

12. Ability to work under pressure and deadlines

13. Willingness to be flexible

14. Ability to be on call at any time

15. Ability to take on other responsibilities as required

 

Desired Job Qualifications:

 

1.  Certificates in Microsoft, Cisco, Mitel, or equivalent.

2.  Experience with Mitel 3300 Phone System or similar VoIP products.
