Job Overview
We develop a variety of software applications used by our corporate and municipal customers. We are looking for an individual to join our team and participate in developing these applications. This individual will work under the guidance of an ATS Product Manager to develop applications in the .NET environment. The individual will also work with other ATS development team members sharing knowledge and experience to help enhance ATS’ .NET competency.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher and 2+ years experience in software development. Candidate should have superior skills in each of the following areas:
· Designing, developing and testing .NET framework and C#
· Object-oriented design and development using industry standard design patterns
· Relational database design and implementation
Candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and have a hands-on, "get it done" attitude. Candidate must understand object-oriented development and be comfortable with the full application lifecycle, be agile, and be pragmatic in building for the long term. Candidate must be skilled at iterative development and release management, and able to manage multiple overlapping versions.
Responsibilities
· Define, develop, and maintain applications written in C# utilizing the .NET Framework, Window Forms, ASP.NET, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript
· Convert design and user specifications into application logic; define and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems
· Develop and maintain application documentation
· Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or technical questions; train end users and technical support staff as required
· Analyze, install and test upgrades of products; monitor performance of applications and/or programs after implementation, taking actions as required
Experience Required
· 2+ years experience with Windows operating systems and applications
· 2+ years experience as an Windows Form developer
· 2+ years experience developing objected oriented applications
· Experience with one or more programming languages: C#, Java, C++, etc.
· Experience with enterprise development tools and methodologies
· Clear and effective written and verbal English communications skills
· BS/CS or equivalent experience
Technical Competencies
· Components / Libraries: ADO, ADO.NET, DAO, .NET Framework, OM/DCOM/COM+, Win32 API
· Database Experience: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MSDE
· Development Platforms: Visual Studio.NET, Visual Studio v6.0, Access 97, Access 2000, IIS
· Operating System Knowledge: Win NT 4.0, 2000, XP
· Server Knowledge: NT4.0 / Win 2000 /Win 2003 (Configure IIS and associated services, Configure User shares, Configure TCP/IP, FTP Services, Install and Configure server components)
Other Competencies
· Understanding of software development processes and methodologies including their documentation and creation
· Ability to comprehend overall product vision and participate in feature definition process
· Able to work well with development engineers
· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
· Must be a self starter able to work independently as well as part of the ATS team
· Attention to detail
· Must possess creative and analytical problem solving and exceptional technical skills
· Must be familiar with the Microsoft Suite of office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)
