Business Intelligence Developer/Reporting Analyst

performs a key role on a high performance team focused on delivering Business Intelligence across the entire WTH organization.  This individual with work with both the technical team and the business users to develop reporting solutions which support day-to-day decision-making, as well as long term strategic goals.  The individual will be directly involved in building and maintaining elements of the Business Intelligence environment and will be responsible for timely delivery of report outputs from that environment.    The successful candidate will have hands on, in depth, experience and expertise with the Cognos 8 product suite, as well as knowledge of structuring and designing data models to optimize the use of the various reporting platforms. Additionally, this person will work with Cognos 8 to build reporting solutions against existing dimensional and relational schemas. Key Responsibilities: The Business Intelligence Developer/Reporting Analyst must be able comprehend functional business requirements and reporting tool functionality; synthesize the requirements and reporting capabilities into functional specifications; prepare technical specifications; and develop and QA test the final product. The solution will contain ad-hoc query, drill-down, slice and dice capabilities, static reporting, managed queries, and dashboards.  Key responsibilities are as follows: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Developing packages, reports, and dashboards using Cognos 8 Gathering report requirements from internal business users    Defining and maintaining Cognos framework manager projects Executing, migrating and automating existing reports to support day to day requests Collaborate extensively with the data development team to ensure reporting requests can be supported by the underlying data source Performing analysis to investigate and troubleshoot data inconsistencies and data integrity issues when necessary. Installs, configures, deploys, and tunes Business Intelligence tools and environment. Develops and manages BI training, documentation, and help desk capabilities.   Bachelor's Degree plus 3-5 years experience Experience gathering business requirements and turning them into detailed functional design specifications. 3+ years of hands on experience with the Cognos series 7 and 8 suite of applications Data Warehouse development experience is required, preferably in an Oracle DBMS platform Programming experience with SQL & PL/SQL Experience with dimensional, logical and physical data modeling for data warehouse/data marts Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly Ability to maintain own workflow and meet deadlines Ability to balance flexibility and task priorities to best meet the frequent demands of multiple internal customers Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong Analytical and quantitative skills Ability to work both autonomously and cooperatively within a fast-paced environment Windows Server 2000/2003 knowledge is desired Knowledge of Oracle Reports 10g is a plus Click here to apply for this job http://worldtravelholdings.ats.hrsmart.com/cgi-bin/pm/click.cgi?job_id=859&site_id=35 Position Information Location: WOBURN, MA 01801 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Reference Code: 859 Learn more about us Visit us at www.worldtravelholdings.com
