Analyst

This Analyst position working with Shepard Systems can be done out of our office in either Atlanta, GA or Bradenton, FL.AnalystDutiesReporting to the VP Operations, Shepherd Systems, the incumbent will: -  Interface directly and with substantial autonomy with senior management, both in Travelport’s PR organization, as well as at external companies we work with ;-  Be a key player in defining the thematic direction of Travelort’s  PR portal and thus public its image;-  Be responsible for supplying the research and opinion to underpin the thematic direction;-  Query and investigate numerous data resources to produce relevant insight into macro and micro trends in the travel industry;-  Extract market/industry data on a regular basis, and produce standard periodic reporting;-  Provide support in the identification of Data Business opportunities through market research as required;-  Be a key resource in the preparation of business plans related to opportunities in the Data Business.The individual will have to demonstrate the following skills / experience:-  Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact smoothly with individuals at all levels, internal and external, in both informal and formal/presentation settings;-  Ability to work independently with a high degree of self confidence;-  Experience in analyzing travel industry trends with an emphasis on airlines;-  Excellent at ad-hoc manipulation of large datasets;-  Expert user of data querying tools as well as MS-Office;-  Be a self-starter with a  love of facts and figures who will independently peruse the data looking for interesting trends;-  Ability to maintain a current insight into industry issues through reading and research using online and off-line sources;-  Ability to build and maintain an indexed, easily searchable archive of travel industry information and articles culled from a multitude of public sources;-  Experience in doing market-research on new product or service potential with an ability to present findings in a succinct fashion that makes clear to the reader the decision options;-  Experience in building business plan proposals that cover assumptions and expectations for both marketing (product development, demand, sales volume, competition etc) and financial (pricing, revenue, investment, cost) aspects; Education / Experience-  MBA preferred -  5 years recent travel industry employment at a senior analysts level – ideally at a global airline with a focus on network or commercial planning
