Dependable Highway Express (DHE), a large transportation company, seeks a Weights & Inspections Clerk to work in our Los Angeles Terminal.  DHE is a stable and rapidly expanding company with long roots in Los Angeles Transportation.  We are looking for a positive attitude and a team player.

 

The purpose for this position is to increase revenue on shipment that are improperly weighed and/or improperly described by the shipping party.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 Review and tag available documents to alert the dock workers to capture shipments that are suspected of needed re-weighs or inspectionsVisually identify shipments needed to be weighed or inspected for proper classificationMeet with the forklift drivers and advise them of what is expected; to be in the lookout for any shipments that were not marked but should be inspectedComplete the necessary paperwork to document the re-weighs and/or inspections Input information into database and communicate the results with the billing departmentMaintain copies of documentation

Job Requirements:

 Must have at least 3 years of experience in the LTL (Less than Truckload) Transportation IndustryPrior experience of working in a Weight and Inspection department is a plus Experienced in the use of the NMFC (National Motor Freight Classification) publicationThe ability to work the hours of 4:00pm to 12:30am Monday through Friday and must be flexible to work other shifts when neededBasic computer skills and knowledge is requiredBi-lingual of English and Spanish is a plusHigh School diploma or equivalent skillful written and verbal communication
