Transportation Coordinator
Albert’s Organics, America's largest, most knowledgeable organic fresh foods distributor and subsidiary of United Natural Foods, is seeking a Transportation Coordinator for our Santa Cruz, CA office.
This exciting position will dispatch and monitor the delivery of inbound trucks to each of Albert’s Organics distribution centers and interact between Produce Buyers, Grower Coolers, Carriers and Inventory Buyers to ensure maximum truck utilization, high order-fill rate and on-time deliveries. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: dispatching common carriers for deliveries to divisions, negotiating rate and delivery schedule; creating route plans w/ account managers; running trucks – call docks, setting appointments and managing route plans; monitoring rates and availability; reviewing / disputing and approving all rates, including fuel charges, detentions and lay overs; running and providing analysis on various transportation reports.
The qualified candidate will have 5+ years of produce knowledge and experience, along with experience routing and dispatching produce trucks. Must have excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, be able to work in a very fast-paced environment, and be a strong team player. BA/BS is preferred. Produce experience a plus.
