Transportation Agent

COMPANY & POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are a family owned, industry leading company with manufacturing and sales offices located worldwide.  We offer an ever-expanding line of transport packaging products and logistical services, and are looking to hire a Transportation Agent to join our team, which is responsible for moving our shipments in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Locate and develop new carriers for new and existing shipping lanesManage shipper and carrier relationshipsNegotiate rates, assessorial charges, service levelsTrack load statusBuild relationships with customers, vendors and internal personnelGenerate business leadsActive involvement in daily operations with ownership to your work 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyTeam orientatedEffective problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritizeGrowth, service and sales orientated person with an entrepreneurial spiritPC literate, including MS Word, MS Excel and web based programs.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent industry experienceFluency in Spanish helpful, but not required
