Tax Analyst

Description:This position will be primarily responsible for centralizing high volume compliance work. It will:-perform entry level special projects, such as compilation of state tax information resource book and monitoring state tax incentive opportunities -process/troubleshoot all tax notices (high volume) -prepare zero returns for entities where there is no business activity but which must be filed in order to comply with state and federal corporate obligations-process check requests and ensure compliance with the required process safeguards, such as Sarbanes-OxleyState Relations: -Compile and maintain a legislative wish list.-Compile an annual reference guide to provide to Public Affairs and State Relations to serve as quick guide when state relations department members need ready access to basic information on the tax position of the company in a particular jurisdiction, such as amount paid in prior year in corporate income or sales taxes.Project work This position will participate in projects to find and drive opportunities for:-process improvement within the Tax Dept as well as where Tax interfaces with other entities and departments-insourcing or outsourcing of work as appropriate-compose the factual argument to abate the tax, interest and penalties.
