Safety Manager - Laredo, TX

Penske Logistics is seeking a Safety Professional to be based in Laredo, Texas.

This safety professional will collaborate with operations personnel to integrate health and safety into all activities and decision making processes with a primary focus on:Prevention of Accidents and Injuries Compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies Transportation (Tractor/Trailer) and Warehousing Multiple operating sites primarily along the Texas/Mexico border

Requirements for the position include:3 years safety experience – transportation and general industry Commitment to excellence and the safety profession Effective team building skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Comprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques Comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations/standards Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish objectives Proficiency with Microsoft products; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Analytical and problem solving skills Travel – average of 3 nights away per week – includes some weekends Bachelor's Degree - prefer a safety related degree Bilingual – fluent in Spanish and English – Verbal and Written - preferred Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred Some operations management experience preferred
