Safety Manager - Columbus, OH

Penske Logistics is seeking a Safety Professional to be based in Columbus, Ohio.

This safety professional will collaborate with operations personnel to integrate health and safety into all activities and decision making processes with a primary focus on:Prevention of Accidents and Injuries Compliance with regulatory agencies and company policiesTransportation (Tractor/Trailer) and WarehousingMultiple operating sites in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland

Requirements for the position include:3 years safety experience – transportation and general industry Commitment to excellence and the safety profession Effective team building skills Effective written and verbal communication skillsComprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques Comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations/standards Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish objectives Proficiency with Microsoft products; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Analytical and problem solving skills Travel – average of 3 nights away per week – includes some weekends Bachelor's Degree - prefer a safety related degree Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred Some operations management experience preferred
