Regional Manager - Global Forwarding

POSITION: District ManagerLOCATION: Houston, TXREPORTS TO: Regional Vice President  Leading international logistics provider has an exceptional opportunity in Houston for a Regional Manager to take over responsibility for the entire Market. The Regional Manager will be responsible for leading the region to excellence in areas of Profitability, Efficiency, Quality, and Exceeding Customer Expectations in the area of Operations and Sales The Regional Manager will also be responsible for assuring regional targets are met throughout the branch network, setting regional budgets, and motivating and leading branch and department managers to highest levels of performance. Regional Manager will ensure that metrics are put in place and will hold managers accountable in the areas of budget targets, P&L responsibilities, and number of shipments per trade lane in all modes of transportation. Regional Manager will visit external clients,  will follow up on exceptions and deviations to secure continuous development, quality improvement and profitability improvements, securing proper and timely training and information that affects the regional performance,  and will actively be involved with the senior executive team in the company decision making process. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics or equivalent work experience, will have a minimum of ten years of business related experience with at least two years as Branch Manager, will have a strong background in the international transportation and logistics industry, and will have superior communication  and interpersonal skills.  Candidates with strong coaching experience, strong tactical and analytical  awareness, quality driven, profound understanding of client relationships and company objectives, self-motivated and multi-tasked will be considered for this opportunity. Generous base, performance bonus, vehicle and expense allowance, medical/dental, 401K  Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
