About the OpportunityThe Project Manager will apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Project management is accomplished through the application and integration of the project management processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing. The Project Manager is the person responsible for accomplishing the project objectives. About the Position Consults with management and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and availability of resources. Develops project plans specifying strategy, technical scope, goals, objectives, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources. Executes the 14 functional area check list as per SOP, for example: Identifies and schedules the reporting of project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues. Coordinates recruitment or assignment of project personnel including assignment of duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority Coordinates recruitment or assignment of project personnel including assignment of duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget Follows established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation. Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues. Confers with project personnel who provide technical advice to resolve problems.  Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules and plans as required. Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original project scope. Coordinates project activities with marketing, sales, engineering, operations, customer support, and client staff to ensure goals and requirements are met.Qualifications Competence with project management tools and procedures. Knowledge of Project Management software and Microsoft Office software. Project Management Professional designation highly desirable. Must be able to work in teams to obtain results, be self motivated, able to organize and supervise people and activities, and work under minimal supervision. Effective computer, analytical and communication skills required (Excel. Word, Microsoft Project Manager and Power Point). 90% travel is required.   Education/Relevant Experience Three years experience with product/program/project management in Warehousing Services, Supply-Chain Management or Third Party Logistics environment. Management experience at the  General Manager level A four year degree in business management (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Operational Management, Business Administration) or equivalent work experience.
