GENCO has an immediate opening for a Personnel Assistant for our 1 million plus sq. ft. distribution center located in Barstow, California. Facility operates with approximately 29 teammates. The Personnel Assistant will ensure that the department is properly prepared to support and meet the business priorities established by our customer. Also, to ensure integrity of all customers orders in the most efficient manner.

The position is responsible for:Examining and/or processing personnel action documents in accordance with GENCO’s policies and procedures.Ensuring that application information is complete and consistent and, determining whether further discussion with applicants or employees is necessary and checking any additional files or listings as required.Responding to varied questions from applicants, employees or managers for readily available information which can be obtained, from file material or manuals.Correcting improperly completed personnel documents or explaining regulations and/or procedures at all levels.Providing information to managers on availability of applicants and hiring status; verifying employment dates from job applications; maintaining personnel records; and administering typing and stenography testing.Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills


The successful candidate will have:Proven planning, organizational and analytical skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Read and write English.Demonstrated, knowledge of proper office procedures. Accurate filing. Ability to type 35 words per minute. Familiarity with the terminology of the office unit.Proficiency using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project) on-line application, Internet and automated systems.Lifting up to 20 pounds.Ability to work with little supervision.Requires frequent use of computer, office equipment such as printers, copier, fax machine, overhead projector and. calculators.Detailed oriented.Customer service driven.
