NIGHT LOGISTICS- ROUTER/DISPATCHER

 

A. LoPresti & Sons, celebrating its 100th year anniversary of servicing the Greater Cleveland area within the foodservice industry, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Night logistics- router / dispatcher.

 

Team driven candidates should be detail oriented and have a common sense approach for adapting within a fast paced environment.

 

This full time salaried position with benefits, will report directly to the Transportation Manager. 

 

The required hours are from 3:30pm-12:00am. Sunday thru Thursday; with a Friday rotation schedule as well. 

 

Duties:

 

·          Daily Routing of all outbound customer deliveries. (average 20 trucks/275 stops)

·          Update and maintain customer/route data base and files. ( Roadshow /IDS-AS400    

computerized routing systems).

            Printing of warehouse picking reports, pick labels, and driver manifest/directions.

·           Plan, schedule, and route vendor pickups and backhauls. 

            Route/stop analysis – reporting and efficiency recommendations and alternatives.

            Ride with drivers on a quarterly basis for improved knowledge and efficiencies.

·          Educate and cross-train fellow associates

·          Ability to work with limited supervision

·          Complete other work assigned

 

 Qualifications:

 

·          A minimum 3-5 years experience with progressive responsibilities in a    

logistics/transportation environment

·          Experience with warehouse shipping/receiving, supply chain, and general freight hauling,

and backhauling transportation operations

·          Team oriented leadership experience required

·          Good listening, organizational, and time management skills

·          Ability to think quickly and remain calm during periods of increased stress

·          Ability to adjust to changing deadlines while maintaining a friendly attitude

·          Willingness to work off-scheduled hours

·          Strong PC/Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
